Questions people ask
Should internal and external replies be different?
Often yes. Colleagues need the name of your backup; outside contacts only need to know when you are back and who to contact if it cannot wait.
Can an admin set an out-of-office reply for someone else?
Yes. In the Microsoft 365 admin center open the user > Mail > Automatic replies, or use Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration in PowerShell.
Why do some senders not get my auto-reply?
Outlook replies once per sender while the reply is on, and external replies can be limited to your contacts only.
